Nottingham Girls' Academy

16-19 Tuition Fund

At Nottingham Girls’ Academy, the 16 to 19 Tuition Fund is being used as follows during the 2021-22 academic year:

The fund will primarily be used to provide small group tuition for sixth form students who have not yet achieved a grade 4 or 5 in English and/or Maths or who have a grade 4 or above in English and/or Maths and are from an economically disadvantaged background and would need catch-up support (these are defined as students from the 27% most economically deprived areas of the country based on the Index of Multiple Deprivation.)

However, the provision will not be limited to tuition for English or Maths, it will also be used to help students on to successful destinations and to support them throughout and following on from the pandemic.

The tuition sessions will be scheduled in addition to the planned programme of study for the students. Tuition and additional support may be delivered using a blend of online and in-school delivery.

Tuition support offered will be based on an individual needs’ assessment, examples of some of the Tuition Support we will offer include:

· GCSE Maths re-sit preparation

· IAG with our careers advisor

· Academic mentoring/tutoring

· Subject specific support

The impact of these sessions will be monitored based on student performance and progress in their courses and their preparation for and confidence in applying to future destinations, including higher education, employment and apprenticeships.
